Research and Science

The family audiobook intervention works – this is demonstrated by independent scientific studies that accompany our work. They show how much the possibility of leaving a biographical audiobook emotionally relieves seriously ill parents, gives children lasting memories and strengthens relatives in dealing with grief. Research is thus a central part of our charitable work – and provides a sound basis for a possible integration of supply into standard care.

The Family Audiobook Movie

For over a year, volunteer filmmakers from Was Gute e.V. accompanied the family audiobook and produced a documentary. ‘Social engagement needs media presence to be effective’, says Marlene Hirschfeld of ‘Was Gute’, an association of volunteer creatives who support and present socially engaged projects with high-quality, short documentaries.

The family audiobook was selected as a social project and portrayed by the Was-Gutes team in a 24-minute documentary. In sensitive scenes, the documentary presents a participant but also survivors, conveys through interviews with an audio biographer and a sound designer the design framework and the recording situation in which participants can speak and influence their work. Convince yourself of this great work – a heartfelt thank you to the Was Gute e.V. team

A song for the family audiobook

Sing, dance, love, stick to each other with confidence, courage and joy and a loving existence for each other. Because these are the memories that stay and carry through the dark days.

A heartfelt thank you to Mario Argandona, sound designer, musician and producer of Argandona Drum World, who wrote and set the ode to life ‘Let the Good Times Shine’ for you and us. Musically accompanied by sound designers from the team: Elisabeth Szwarc, Sitara Schmitz and Matthias Keul and Johanna Roth (film cut).
