A Düsseldorf School (GGS Knittkuhl, mission statement: “We promote our children’s social competence and closeness to nature) surprised the family audiobook with a four-digit donation amount! The amount came together as part of the Hunger March in March 2026. Rector Grüneklee provided us with the following information:
Since 1983, a hunger march has been carried out annually to raise money for social purposes. The students ask for money in their family, relatives and friends for the distance they have travelled. The collected funds will be used for social projects, which will be funded in coordination with the school conference. This year, the following donation targets were selected:
– Partner school in Rwanda (set at 1000€)
– Children's table in Düsseldorf
– SleepIn Düsseldorf
– Children's hospice Rainbow Land
– Family audiobook
– Noah Büderich's Ark
260 children, 20 teachers and numerous parents were present on the twelve-kilometre-long track that led through forest and meadows around Knittkuhl / Grafenberger Wald and Rennbahn.
