18.07.2022, film premiere: For over a year, volunteer filmmakers from Was Gute e.V. accompanied the family audiobook and produced a documentary. ‘Social engagement needs media presence to be effective’, says Marlene Hirschfeld of ‘Was Gute’, an association of volunteer creatives who support and present socially engaged projects with high-quality, short documentaries.
The family audiobook was selected as a social project and portrayed by the Was-Gutes team in a 24-minute documentary. In sensitive scenes, the documentary presents a participant but also survivors, conveys through interviews with an audio biographer and a sound designer the design framework and the recording situation in which participants can speak and influence their work.
