Severely ill mothers and fathers leave behind something very personal: Their voice and their own story – told by themselves.
As a trained audio biographer and psychotherapist, I have been part of the family audiobook team since 2019 and have already been able to record many family audiobooks. Each time I enter a world of stories, experiences and intimate emotions that are very different, but EVERYONE always has the same message: The love.
The participants ask themselves, among other things, the question ‘What made me?’ ‘What should you remember about me?’ For me, it is always a gift that fills me with gratitude and deep meaning to accompany the participants on an emotional journey through time through their lives.
It gives me the certainty that until the end they have given everything for their loved ones. For example, when a father sings a song for his child with last strength, or a mother plays the piano live, or a father reads a bedtime story for his children, these are moments for me that brighten my heart and tell me that there is nothing more beautiful than that – and I can witness and accompany them.
Such a personal family audiobook, told with the emotions of one's own voice, is a wonderful and timeless gift and for me a matter of the heart.
