I have been supporting the family audiobook on a voluntary basis on the Ethics Advisory Board since 2025. It is an honor (and a great pleasure) for me to be able to advise the family audiobook on ethical issues. I firmly believe that it creates a significant anchor point for families that can greatly enrich the lives of many people over a long period of time. I like to take part!
As a philosopher, I have the privilege of thinking professionally about questions where good answers are difficult to substantiate. Many of them concern topics that are relevant to the family audiobook on a daily basis: What do we owe our parents, what do we owe our children? What is a good life? How can we improve other people's lives? It is often crucial to think further about the question itself: Is the question even answerable? What would a good answer look like? What assumptions should be made in addition? I would be very happy if my constant enquiries would enrich the future of the family audiobook.
